Vinicius Jnr Criticises the Refereeing in Madrid’s Humbling Defeat Against Girona

Vinicius Junior, the star player of Real Madrid, expressed dissatisfaction with the refereeing after their 4-2 loss to Girona at Montilivi on Tuesday.

Despite being subjected to yet another instance of disgraceful racial abuse from the home fans, the Brazilian player delivered an electric performance, scoring and assisting for his team.

However, he faced criticism for his behavior during the game, as he actively sought out Girona players and was involved in several instances of dissent with the referee.

Following the match, Vinicius took to Twitter to express his frustration with the refereeing by quoting a tweet that pointed out an incident where he was on the ground and a Girona player shot the ball at him. Vinicius appealed to the referee and received a booking, while Santi Bueno, the Girona player, faced no punishment. The tweet from Vinicius simply included the La Liga and two emojis depicting laughter with sweat.

However during the incident in question, the ball was still in play, and Bueno was winning a throw-in for Girona.

Vinicius was later fortunate to avoid being sent off. The referee avoided sending Vinicius off despite numerous incidents of dissent in his face, a dive where Vinicius received no contact from a defender, and pushing Bueno over while the game was stopped.
