Chelsea supporters criticize Thomas Tuchel for his decision after Billy Gilmour's impressive performance for Brighton

After Billy Gilmour's outstanding performance in Brighton's significant victory over Wolves, Chelsea fans have expressed their regret over Thomas Tuchel's decision to sell him.

On Saturday, Gilmour played a key role in Brighton's 6-0 win over Wolves, after joining the club on a four-year deal from Chelsea last September.

In the midfield position, Gilmour displayed a remarkable performance by controlling the play and exhibiting his exceptional vision during the game.

Roberto De Zerbi, the manager, was impressed by Gilmour's performance at the AMEX Stadium and referred to the Scottish midfielder as the "best player on the pitch."

Chelsea fans expressed their excitement about Gilmour's performance and expressed their regret over the decision to sell him on social media, criticizing former manager Tuchel for authorizing the transfer.

Online, some individuals drew comparisons between Gilmour and Enzo Fernandez, who was signed for a massive fee of £106 million, as well as Conor Gallagher.

One Twitter user wrote: "In an alternate universe we would’ve kept him and not have had to spend £106m on Enzo… Gilmour is exceptional."

A second tweeted: "If you ever feel dumb, just remember that Chelsea sold Billy Gilmour for £9M and kept Conor Gallagher."

A third added: "People will blame Boehly but Tuchel has to take responsibility for that as well. Massive howler."

A fourth said: "Thomas Tuchel has blood on his hands. Sold Gilmour and bought washed Aubameyang."

Another claimed: "We were robbed of a Gilmour x Enzo partnership."

Despite being a talented player, the 21-year-old has only featured in eight Premier League matches this season, as he has been playing a supporting role to Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo.

And he acknowledged his esteemed teammates when he reflected on his performance following the result.

"It's hard to fill Alexis and Moises' job but I just had to take my opportunity," he said. When they've played I've studied them and what they do in my position."

He added: "I need to keep focusing on myself, help the team when called upon."

Will Chelsea regret getting rid of Gilmour? Let us know what you think.
