Cristiano Ronaldo left fuming by penalty decision but fans are divided

After Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his discontent with a decision made during Al Nassr's match against Al Raed, fans have been sharing their reactions.

Following a disappointing conclusion to his second tenure at Manchester United, Ronaldo made a lucrative move to the Middle East by joining the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.

Since his arrival in the Saudi Professional League, there has been a significant increase in the popularity of Saudi football.

On Friday evening, Ronaldo played for Al Nassr in their match against Al Raed.

During the match, Ronaldo was left furious when his appeals for a penalty were denied.

In response to the referee's decision, Ronaldo was seen throwing his arms up in the air in disbelief.

A video of the incident was subsequently shared on social media, sparking a division of opinions among fans.

One said: “Disgrace of a decision.. HOW ARE THESE PEOPLE IN CHARGE.”

Another tweeted: “Never a penalty, great dive!”

A third fan added: “One of the few good things about Messi. He doesn't dive. Literally every other footballer does it so can't blame Ronaldo. But credit where credits due.”

Someone else wrote: “Yeh that’s a peno all day.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “He would have got the pen of he wasn’t half way down before any contact was made. Great call by the ref.”

Despite the penalty incident causing controversy, it had no impact on the outcome of the match, as Al Nassr emerged victorious with a 4-0 win.

Ronaldo got Al Nassr off to a flying start by scoring the opening goal just four minutes into the game. Later, Abdulrahman Abdullah Ghareeb, Mohammed Maran, and Abdulmajeed Al Sulaiheem added their names to the scoresheet, securing a comfortable victory for the team.

As a result of the win, Al Nassr is now only three points behind league leaders Al Ittihad, who have a game in hand.

Overall, it has been a decent first season in Saudi for Ronaldo.

To date, the Portuguese legend has made 15 appearances for Al Nassr across all competitions, scoring 12 and assisting two.
