Former Barca player Douglas arrested for shooting in Brazilian car park

Right-back Douglas Pereira dos Santos, who played for Barcelona between 2014 and 2016, has been arrested, according to 'GloboEsporte', for illegal use of a firearm. The former Barcelona man fired into the air in a car park at the Clubes Esportivos Sul marina.

Many may not remember Douglas' 'Cule' past, but he was in the team that won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League back in 2015. His time in the team was anecdotal as, despite being in the squad for 2 years, he played just 8 games.

Well, the right-back is making headlines now, and not for anything to do with the sporting world. According to 'GloboEsporte', Douglas has reportedly been arrested in Brazil for illegal use of a firearm.

It all happened in a car park at the Clubes Esportivos Sul marina in Brasilia. After a boat ride, the former Barca player shot into the air.

The gun with which Douglas allegedly fired the shot, a Glock registered in his mother's name, has not been found. Douglas allegedly hid it in a forest and the police are trying to locate it after he admitted that he had fired the shot.

Douglas is now facing a complaint filed by the Criminal Justice Prosecutor's Office in Brasilia. It remains to be seen what the justice system decides in this case.
