Man Utd and Chelsea looking to poach Barca's Kounde
Jules Kounde could pack his bags this summer. The defender does not like the fact that Xavi always uses him as a right-back when his natural position is centre-back, so he could leave if a good offer arrives. According to 'Sport', Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in the Frenchman.
Defender Jules Kounde arrived at Camp Nou last summer from Sevilla. A year later, he could change teams again.
The Frenchman is not at all happy with his situation. The reason? He is tired of playing as a right-back and not as a centre-back, his natural position and the one in which he feels most comfortable.
'Sport' claims that Barca would consider selling him. However, whoever wants him will have to pay at least 75 million euros. The club refuses to see him leave the Catalan giants for less.
According to the aforementioned source, Kounde would have a couple of Premier League clubs interested in him. Chelsea or Manchester United would be willing to make a bid for him, although it remains to be seen whether the Blues or the Red Devils will put on the table the huge figures that Barcelona are demanding to say goodbye to him.
Kounde's discomfort and his possible departure have an impact on Barca's plans for 2023-24. If until recently the club were considering signing a right-back, but for the 2024-25 season, they are now looking for one for this summer.
