Arsenal fans have been left in disbelief by the location for Kai Havertz' signing announcement

On Wednesday, the Gunners officially confirmed the signing of the German, who joins in a £65 million switch from Chelsea and becomes the first addition at the Emirates Stadium this summer.

Havertz had been identified as a top target by Mikel Arteta and director of football Edu and Arsenal were able to wrap up the deal fairly swiftly.

It was very much common knowledge that Havertz was on his way to the North London club and after he completed part of his medical last week, his interview was leaked ahead of him signing.

Havertz didn't travel to the Emirates to complete the move and Arsenal actually went to him to seal the transfer.

Incredibly, the former Bayer Leverkusen was at now former teammate Kepa Arrizabalaga's wedding - with the footage of him holding up his new shirt taken from the Marbella location where the Spaniard tied the knot with partner Andrea Martinez.

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho was a big tease on social media when he posted a picture of he and Havertz in their suits at the ceremony.

But fans can't believe the official first interview was done at a Chelsea player's special day.

One supporter wrote: "Just realised the Kai Havertz announcement got done at Kepa's wedding."

A second said: "Absolutely crazy to shoot a TikTok like this tbf they couldn't have just wait until after Kepa's wedding..."

A third said: "Possibly the best thing I’ve ever seen."

Another added: "Why did kepa allow this in his wedding?"

A fifth weighed in: "New reason to hate kepa cheers."

And a final user said: "Disrespectful tho but Kepa had to have agreed with it which is what should be looked into."

Havertz has signed a long-term contract with Arsenal and will once again wear the No.29 shirt for his new club, where he is expected to play in a number of different positions.

“It's super exciting for me personally. I'm so glad to join this amazing club," Havertz said when asked why he signed for Arsenal.

“This club has such a big history and I hope we can achieve lots of things. I'm looking forward to meeting the players and staff, it's going to be exciting.

"You can see the family mentality the team has on the pitch and I guess they have it off the pitch as well.

“The team mentality in the squad is very, very high and you can feel that. That was one of the reasons why it was so hard to play against Arsenal."

Arsenal are now closing in on their second summer signing, with widespread reports saying they have agreed a £105 million deal in principle to sign West Ham captain Declan Rice.
