Man Utd set date for Mason Mount medical as Chelsea transfer moves closer

Man United have agreed to pay Chelsea £55m for the England international, with a further £5m in potential add-ons.

Mount, 24, is set to sign a five-year deal, with the option of a further year, with United if he passes his medical.

Mount is set for a huge pay increase at Old Trafford, with some reports claiming he could earn as much as £300,000 a week included bonuses – compared to his reported £80,000-per-week contract at Chelsea.

According to the Daily Telegraph journalist Matt Law has now confirmed that United have 'scheduled a medical for Mount on Monday', which is expected to take place at the club's training base, Carrington.

It will take place once Mount has returned from his summer holiday.

Mount has opted to leave his boyhood club Chelsea after turning down the offer of a new deal at Stamford Bridge, with the midfielder unhappy with the terms offered.
