Manchester United set for major rebuild, with Harry Maguire, Wout Weghorst and others expected to leave

Manchester United are planning a major rebuild in the 2023 transfer market, and as part of that plan, they are expected to let go of a number of players.

The most high-profile name on the list is Harry Maguire. The England international has been a regular in the United defence since his £80 million move from Leicester City in 2019, but he has struggled for form in recent seasons. Both sides are reportedly in agreement that a move away would be best for both parties.

Another player who is expected to leave is Wout Weghorst. The Dutch striker joined United on a free transfer from Burnley in January, but he failed to make an impact at Old Trafford. He is reportedly wanted by Everton and a number of Spanish clubs.

Dean Henderson is also set to leave Old Trafford. The England goalkeeper has been on loan at Nottingham Forest this season, and he is now expected to make the move permanent.

Donny van de Beek is another player who is keen to leave United. The Dutch midfielder has been largely out of the picture since his £35 million move from Ajax in 2020, and he is now looking for a new club where he can play regular football.

Eric Bailly and Alex Telles are also expected to be let go by United. Both players have struggled to establish themselves in the first team, and they are surplus to requirements at Old Trafford.

United finished third in the Premier League this season, but they were disappointed to lose to Manchester City in the FA Cup final. They also reached the quarterfinals of the Europa League.
