Romelu Lukaku has 'travelled to Saudi Arabia' to discuss big money move

Romelu Lukaku has reportedly travelled to Saudi Arabia to hold talks with Al Hilal as his future at Chelsea remains in the balance.

The 30-year-old Belgian forward, who featured for Inter Milan in Saturday's Champions League final against Manchester City, spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan at the Nerazzurri from Chelsea.

After scoring 14 goals in all competitions for the Serie A club, Inter president Steven Zhang is keen on bringing the "amazing" Lukaku to Milan on a permanent basis, although there is interest from elsewhere.

Saudi Pro League outfit Al Hilal are said to be keen on making a move, according to reports. In fact, the 30-year-old travelled to the Middle East on Monday after receiving a two-year offer worth €50 million [£43m] per season.

A number of high profile players have made the move to Saudi Arabia in recent weeks, including Karim Benzema, who signed a three-year deal with Al Ittihad worth a reported £200 million per season.

N'Golo Kante also appears to have joined Benzema at Al Ittihad as they continue their spending spree.

So will Lukaku be the next player to make the move? According to GOAL, the Chelsea striker spoke to Al Hilal officials on Monday, although he is keen to 'squeeze an even larger salary out of the club'.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are open to a sale and will seek a transfer fee of €50 million [£43m], while Al Hilal are 'reluctant' to pay such a fee for Lukaku but are open to negotiations.
