Arsenal have become only the second club in world football to have a squad value worth over €1 billion (£852.8m), according to the latest information.

According to Transfermarkt and on their return to the Champions League, Arsenal have entered an elite group of teams to have a value worth over €1b, or €1.09bn to be precise.

The Athletic's David Ornstein also revealed that the Gunners had reached full agreement with Ajax to sign Jurrien Timber in a deal worth €40m (£4.1), including €5m in bonuses.

Fresh off winning the treble, Manchester City are the only team to be worth more in the world, boasting a total value of €1.19bn.
