Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale was left red faced after being beaten inside the opening minute by Fulham's Andreas Pereira, leaving some supporters to demand David Raya start their next game

Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale might find himself sitting on the bench for the Gunners next game after making an error that saw his team concede in the opening minute against Fulham.

An errant back pass from winger Bukayo Saka was seized upon by Fulham's Andreas Pereira, with the Brazilian spotting Ramsdale way off his line from outside the box.

Testing his luck, the midfielder took a shot from distance, that somehow wrong footed the out of position Ramsdale to give Fulham an unlikely 1-0 lead at the Emirates inside the first minute of action.

In the end, Arsenal would go on to draw the game 2-2 against Fulham, with goals from Saka and striker Eddie Nketiah looking like they had sealed all three points for Mikel Arteta's side.

However, a late equaliser from Fulham's Joao Palhinha, who were down to 10-men after the sending off of defender Calvin Bassey, meant the spoils were shared.

And there were a number of Arsenal fans on social media who now want to see David Raya, who joined the Gunners from Brentford this summer, start their next game.

One fan wrote: "Get Ramsdale out Raya in can’t do this anymore #ARSFUL." Another commented: "Raya may need to come on at this point Ramsdale left his mind at home."

A third said: "What is Ramsdale doing." A fourth added: "Why does Aaron Ramsdale love complicating matches for us? Just a few minutes into a game we prepared the whole week for and we are behind."

It should however be noted that Ramsdale did in fact make a crucial save in injury-time from Fulham's Adama Traore, that ultimately preserved a point for the Gunners at the Emirates.

However, with how Arsenal lost out on the title last season, the Gunners cannot afford to drop points at home, especially against a side with 10-men.
