Chelsea agree deal to sign Romeo Lavia from Southampton
Chelsea have finally agreed a deal with Southampton for Romeo Lavia, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Chelsea and Southampton have reached an agreement over Lavia, who will command a transfer fee of £58 million.
The Premier League club will pay £53 million up front, with £5 million in add-ons.
The 19-year-old will undergo a medical this week ahead of completing his move to Stamford Bridge.
Liverpool also agreed a deal with Southampton, but the player opted to sign for the Blues.
Lavia's proposed switch to Chelsea comes after the club shelled out a British record £115 million to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton.
The Belgium international, who joined the Saints from Manchester City, starred in the Premier League last season, making 29 league appearances.
He was unused substitute in Southampton's Championship season opener against Sheffield Wednesday and wasn't included in the matchday squad for the club's game against Norwich last weekend.
