Chelsea fan comes up with nickname for their new-look midfield, it's the ultimate insult to Liverpool
A Chelsea fan has come up with a name for their impending new midfield three - and it is the ultimate insult to Liverpool supporters.
The Blues confirmed the signing of Moises Caicedo from Brighton on Monday evening, with the 21-year-old completing his move to Stamford Bridge for a British record fee of £115 million.
Anyone who has followed the wild saga across the weekend will know that Caicedo reportedly told Brighton that he only wanted to join Chelsea - after Liverpool had a £111 million bid rejected.
Then, the Reds turned their attention to Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, and had a £60 million offer accepted. But in yet another major twist, The Athletic's David Ornstein reported that Lavia wants to join Chelsea over Liverpool.
All that remains is for the Blues to reach an agreement with the Championship side over a fee of their own.
Add Enzo Fernandez to the mix - who was named player of the match during Chelsea's 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Sunday - and Chelsea have a fearsome midfield three.
Chelsea fan comes up with name for 'new midfield'
Throughout the recent history of football, we've seen supporters come up with iconic monikers for some of the greatest trios in the world.
We had 'MSN' for Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez at Barcelona, 'SAS' for Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling at Liverpool, and 'MNM' for Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe at PSG.
With the incredible amount of new signings in the past year, Chelsea fans haven't seen their players gel for long enough to form any real long-term partnerships.
But should the Lavia deal go through, the Blues will have one of the top midfields in football committed to the club for potentially the rest of the decade - and beyond.
Taking to Twitter, one Chelsea supporter has declared that their expected new-look midfield should be dubbed 'LFC' - representing the surnames Lavia, Fernandez and Caicedo.
yeah we’re calling this the LFC (lavia, fernandez caicedo) midfield https://t.co/G9RPGuSnA0

Whilst it certainly won't go down well with Liverpool fans, you suspect that the name will catch on across social media before too long.
Chelsea had the opportunity to add Leeds star Tyler Adams to their midfield too, but pulled out of negotiations as the Caicedo saga continued.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Bournemouth have activated the United States international's release clause as they look to swoop in first.
