Megan Rapinoe accused of 'poisoning' USA Women's team against national anthem at 2023 World Cup

The U.S. Women's National Soccer Team (USWNT) has been under fire since its players disrespected the national anthem during a Women's World Cup game. Megyn Kelly is the latest to give her two cents. The journalist spoke out and blamed Megan Rapinoe, known for being a staunch supporter of the woke doctrine, for encouraging several of the team's star players to not sing along with the Star-Spangled Banner or put their hands over their hearts as a sign of respect.

"Megan Rapinoe, she’s the leader of all this. She’s not a starter. So that’s why she’s not on camera when they’re doing the national anthem, but she’s behind a lot of this. She’s poisoned the entire team against the country for which they play," the journalist said on her podcast The Megyn Kelly Show. She later called the players who disrespected one of the country's great symbols "morons."

This prompted Kelly to withdraw her support for the USWNT. "I don’t know about you, but I’m not rooting for them. I’m not with them. I hope they lose... It's shameful," she said.

Kelly is not the first to criticize the team. A few days after the disrespect for the anthem, basketball player Jonathan Isaac, known for founding the anti-woke brand Unitus, talked to the journalist and spoke about the players' lack of enthusiasm. "It would only benefit us for them to do the right thing and to share their pride... We should understand that being Americans binds us together," he said.
