VIDEO; Fans experiencing 'Deja Vu' at Women's World Cup after witnessing the 'worst own goal ever' – this time from 45 yards out
Spain's Laia Codina fired home from 45-yards on her Women's World Cup debut - but it was unfortunately into her own net.
Fans couldn't believe their eyes as the defender bent a back-pass powerfully past Cata Coll to hand Switzerland an early equaliser in their round of 16 clash at Eden Park in Auckland on Saturday morning.
Five minutes after Aitana Bonmati gave Jorge Vilda's side the lead with a fine turn and finish from inside the box, Spain looked to recycle possession at the back.
Codina then failed to spot her goalkeeper's position and chipped a pass back towards their own goal while positioned just outside the centre circle. The 23-year-old then put a hand to her eyes as Switzerland celebrated.

One fan said: "Oh my word it’s a shocker of an own goal." A second added: "Terrible own goal! Laia Codina has no idea her keeper is."
A third said: "Remarkable own goal by Laia Codina! From the middle of the park." A fourth continued: "What is this?"
A fifth posted: "How did Switzerland get so far? They are chance-less against a team, which just scored the worst own goal, I ever have seen."

The 23-year-old scored their fourth goal during a scramble after a corner, with Jennifer Hermoso making it five before star player Alexia Putellas joined the action from the bench.
Next up for Spain on August 11 will be the winner of Netherlands vs South Africa in their quarter-finals.
Former England defender Gilly Flaherty gave her thoughts on BBC Sport, calling the pass a defender's nightmare.
She said: "I've got my head in my hands - as a centre-back, that's one of the worst things you dream about.
"She doesn't even look up to see where the goalkeeper is, she hasn't got an idea where Coll is - it's not good enough for an international player."
Alba Redondo went on to restore the Spainish lead before Bonmati grabbed a second and Codina grabbed her redemption.
