Leeds United is a Championship club based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The club was formed in 1919, replacing the former “Leeds City” team and took over their home ground at Elland Road Stadium.

But after being relegated to the Championship in the 2003/04 season, Leeds United suffered a dramatic downfall. They had to sell a lot of players to lower their wage bill. In 2008, The Whites suffered from drastic financial problems and were fined by the FA 10 league points which ensured their relegation down to League One.
In 2010, Leeds bounced back up to the Championship where they have played the last nine seasons. Their best finish out of the nine campaigns was achieved in the 2018/19 season – third, under Marco Bielsa.
