Saturday’s fixture between Manchester United and Brighton is still a hot topic among football fans. With United’s strong home record, many expected a solid performance against an in-form Brighton side. However, the game proved to be a challenging one for them.

A video of Brighton’s second goal has been circulating online, showcasing how they outplayed Manchester United to score. You can watch the video below.

Manchester United suffered a disappointing 1-3 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, September 16, 2023. This marked their first home league defeat since losing to Brighton on the opening day of the previous term.

Former Man Utd striker Danny Welbeck opened the scoring for Brighton in the 20th minute. After the break, Pascal Gross doubled the visitors’ lead in the 53rd minute due to some questionable defending from Manchester United. Joao Pedro then added a third goal for Brighton in the 71st minute.

Manchester United managed to get a consolation goal when Hannibal Mejbri scored in the 73rd minute. However, this did not spark a comeback, and the match ended with a 1-3 scoreline in favor of Brighton.

This result means that Manchester United have made one of their worst starts ever in the Premier League era, having lost three of their first five league games of a season. The defeat ended a run of 20 games unbeaten at home in the Premier League.

Despite the defeat, there were some positive performances from Manchester United. Rasmus Hojlund and Sergio Reguilon impressed on their first starts, and Marcus Rashford looked lively on the left wing. However, they were undone by some questionable defending for all three of Brighton’s goals.

The result sees Erik ten Hag’s side drop into 12th place with six points. Meanwhile, Brighton jumps into third after a fourth win in their opening five league games this season.
