'It took us a step closer' - Robertson loves watching City lose to Man Utd

Andy Robertson watched the Manchester Derby on Sunday afternoon and admitted it was nice to see the Reds' title rivals defeated.

He added: "I watched it, it was a good game of football. The result favoured us. It took us a step closer.

"It was quite nice knowing we are a step closer to winning the league without winning the ball. It is one step closer to what we have all dreamed of.

"Now we are two wins away from ending 30 years of hurt. Now focus on getting to the last eight of competition that has been so good to us."

Robertson also says Liverpool won't be following Manchester City's meeting with Arsenal on Wednesday when they host Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on the same night.

And the Reds defender labelled the visit from Atletico as a "do or die" game as they look to turn around a 1-0 loss in the Spanish capital last month.

"Our focus is on our game," said the Scotland captain. "We can't affect anything that is going on in Manchester. It is their game in hand and they play against Arsenal.

"If we win here that is all that matters. One eye won't be on that game. It is the Champions League, it is do or die to get through to the last eight. We can't be focusing on Premier League business."
