Greenwood injury confirmed after horrific Romeu challenge against Southampton

United boss Solskjaer has confirmed Greenwood injury and aslo reveals that the young star suffered a swollen ankle and is a doubt the Palace game.

He hopes to have the young striker available for the important tie.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told the media: “I'll give Luke as much time as possible - him and Mason, their ankles are swollen and a bit blown up.

“We've not trained obviously this morning yet but we'll hopefully have two, maybe all three (including Brandon Williams) of them.

“In the heat of the moment he'll play on and adrenaline gets you going, and then you get a little bit of reaction after. I said after the game that my ankles were a bit weak after many years of football.

“But obviously Mason carried on and I think it should have been looked upon by the referee definitely.”

Solskjaer had voiced his annoyance at Oriol Romeu not getting sent off for that shocking stamp that wasn’t even checked by VAR.

Mason Greenwood played through the pain and it seems he might’ve caused more damage doing so, making him a slight doubt for the crunch tie against Crystal Palace.

The 18-year-old has been in stunning form since the season restart, scoring 4 goals in our last four games and we can hope he makes a full recovery to bolster our attack against Palace.
