Not good for Barca fans: Luis Suarez has automatic renewal clause in his contract confirmed
Suarez has a clause for automatic renewal if he plays a specific number of games, Bartomeu revealed.
The Uruguayan still has a contract with the Blaugrana until 2021.
Bartomeu confirmed via Mundo Deportivo: "About Luis Suarez, he has a clause according to which if he plays a number of games, he automatically renews."
Suarez has a year left on his current contract which runs out at the end of the 2020/201 campaign.
The striker has been one of the most prolific attackers in the Blaugrana's squad this season with a record of 19 goals and 12 assists to his name from 34 appearances in all competitions.
Barca, meanwhile, are planning to sign a replacement for the Uruguayan who turned 33 earlier this year.
The Catalan giants are reportedly considering signing Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez this summer.
