OFFICIAL: FIFA allow 5 subs per game for next season

The damage created by the COVID-19 pandemic will be a long-lasting one.

It's been announced that FIFA will allow five substitutions per game for the 2020/21 season.

However, leagues will be the ones that decide whether they want to continue with the rule or go back to three subs.

At first, the rule was adopted as a way to cope with the high intensity of the league campaigns following the coronavirus pandemic.

In previous interviews, Quique Setien spoke against the usage of five subs claiming it puts Barcelona at a disadvantage.
