Onazi backs Osimhen for Napoli Move

Super Eagles and Denizlispor midfielder, Onazi Ogenyi believes Victor Osimhen has come of age and need no extra experience to showcase his talents if he eventually signs for Italian Serie A giants Napoli.

In an exclusive chat with FCnaija recently, the former Trabzonspor midfield enforcer hinged his submission on the striker’s immense talent and his resolve to reach the pinnacle of his football career.

Talks had reached an advance stage on Monday between Osimhen’s party and Napoli eggheads, but the impending transfer, however, took another twist on Tuesday after with the striker was again linked with fresh move to England.

But Onazi vehemently disagrees with the view that the towering striker will eventually become surplus to requirements in Napoli given the challenges defender pose to strikers in Serie A.

” Osimhen might be very young but there is no doubt he is a good striker. I really don’t think he lacks the experience to play in Italy because I also joined Lazio as a rookie and was not as experienced as he is now when I moved to Italy.

” You can say that he is coming from French Ligue1, I  still believe playing for Lille in the UEFA Champions League has helped prepare the young man for the task ahead.

If you can play in the Champions League, then you must have faced some of world best players” Onazi told FCNaija.

Onazi joined Trabzonspor from Italian club Lazio in August 2016 and made 79 league appearances scoring seven goals before he joining Turkish Super Lig club Denizlispor on a one-and-half-year contract.
