Super Eagles legend begs Rohr for Saka invitation

Olympic gold medalist Victor Ikpeba begs Genort Rohr to hand the median call to Arsenal star Bukayo Saka for Super Eagles ahead of England.

The 18-year-old Nigerian descent who just penned a new long-term contract with the Gunnars until 2024 summer after enjoying a fine debut season.

Saka has impressed for Arsenal since the Premier League’s resumption in June, starting six of the north London side’s seven games, notching two assists, and scoring in their 2-0 win over Wolves last weekend.

Arsenal number 77, who was born in London through his Nigerian parent has represented England at under-16, U17, U18 and U19 levels after cap-tied to England when he started in a 2-1 win against Israel at the 2018 European U17 Championship but he is still eligible to play for Super Eagles at the senior level.

Following another superb display for Arsenal in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw against Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner and 1996 Olympic Gold medalist Ikbepa is eager to see Saka to followed the footstep of Ola Aina Victor Moses, Alex Iwobi, Semi Ajayi, Viv Solomon-Otabor, Josh Maja to play for Super Eagles with his Twitter message.



Saka became the second-youngest English player to score a Premier League goal for the Gunners after Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who achieved the feat against Blackburn Rovers in 2012.



Saka and Arteta’s men travel to the London Stadium on Sunday for their derby against Tottenham Hotspur as they continue their pursuit for a place in Europe next season.
