Barcelona president Bartomeu to meet with Messi's father on Wednesday to discuss player's future

Leo Messi's father and agent Jorge is currently in Rosario, Argentina, but will travel to Barcelona soon, Mundo Deportivo report.

Josep Maria Bartomeu plans to meet the captain's representative on Wednesday, September 2, to talk about his future.

Messi's desire to leave remains firm but he would like to say goodbye in a friendly manner, he wants to avoid going to court against Blaugrana.

Meanwhile, Bartomeu is only disposed to discuss a contract renewal and nothing more, the same source reports.

If he can't convince Leo to stay, the Barca boss want to keep the forward at the club at least until a new president is appointed.

According to the most recent reports, the Argentine's release clause has expired at the end of the 2019/20 and he's now free to leave.
