Breaking: Bartomeu denies resigning

Josep Maria Bartomeu has told Diario Sport that he hadn't resigned.

Yet, he doesn't consider resigning, something that Diario Sport have earlier confirmed despite the initial rumours and constant calls from the fans and presidential candidates.

Bartomeu was called to resign even before the Messi saga started, straight after the Champions League disaster 10 days ago.

Yet, the Barcelona boss explained it would have been irresponsible to resign.

Rumour has it, Bartomeu wants to balance the club's books before leaving; otherwise, he would be forced to pay the huge debts himself.
