Inter Milan Set lose the fight to keep Lautaro As talks with Barcelona to resume this week

The Nerazzurri want to wrap up the striker's departure as soon as possible while the Catalans need to sell first.

Diario Sport provides a highly optimistic update on Lautaro Martinez's transfer saga, claiming Inter have 'accepted defeat' in their intention to keep the star striker.

They are in a hurry to settle his departure with Barcelona in order to start looking for a replacement.

The talks with the Catalan club are set to resume already this week even though Barca are unable to wrap up the transfer before the necessary sales.

The sides currently disagree on the valuation of the 23-year-old star as Barca offer €65m plus a player while Inter ask for €80m a plus player.

Junior Firpo is widely mentioned as the main candidates to enter the swap deal.

Last term, the Argentina international has scored 21 goals and provided seven assists in 49 matches for Inter.
