Ansu Fati reacts to his first-team promotion: 'It’s a dream come true'

After an impressive first season with Barcelona's first team, Ansu Fati has been promoted permanently to the first squad for the new season.

“It’s a dream come true for any kid that comes from La Masia,” Ansu Fati said of being officially promoted to Barcelona's first team on Wednesday.

“I am really happy. My family is too. And now I have to continue working like always to keep on improving.

“I am really excited. I want to improve day by day and learn from my team-mates. Every season is a test at Barca and I want to overcome this challenge.”

The 17-year-old's contract will be automatically extended from 2022 until 2024 after his 18th birthday on October 31. The promotion also rises the forward's release clause from €170m to €400m. Fati will wear the No. 22 shirt in the 2020/21 season.
