Barca considered signing Aubameyang instead of Lautaro Martinez.
Pierre-Emerick confirms the rumours, adding that some other clubs were also interested in luring him.
However, he opted to stay at Arsenal because of Mikel Arteta and the fans.
"There were several offers, notably from Barca, but also from other clubs. My priority was to stay for two reasons: the coach [Mikel Arteta] and secondly, the love that I receive from the [Arsenal] fans and people at the club," Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has told the media after extending his Arsenal deal until 2023.
Back in July, Barcelona considered Aubameyang as an alternative option to Lautaro Martinez but the Catalans supposedly couldn't afford the Gabonese.
As for now, Blaugrana are said to be targeting Memphis Depay who's hardly affordable for today's Barca as well.
