He is not Messi: Real Madrid fans not worried about Ansu Fati’s emergence at Barcelona

Ansu Fati made a big impact in Barcelona’s 4-0 win over Villarreal on Sunday, scoring a brace.

But Real Madrid fans aren’t really worried as we have enough young talent in our disposal to counter Barca in the youth development department.

Some fans on Reddit pointed out why there isn’t need to worry much about the young Spaniard’s evolution at Barca.

Vinicius and Rodrygo just as good
Flae99: “Meh not really that worried. His finishing is good, but it's not surprising considering he's been a 9 throughout the youth system. Vini and Rodrygo have always been wingers so a difference in goals is to be expected. In return, he doesn't create nearly as much danger as Vinicius.

“Rodrygos decision making is probably up there where Fati's is, but he doesn't act like an inside forward as much so less goal-scoring opportunities and less goals as a result. His finishing isn't much worse. Vini is behind in both. The kids going to burn out if they keep having him start every game like he is now. But that said he has developed a lot quite early on in comparison, probably at an Mbappe-esque rate rather than a slower gradual rate like Ronaldo, which is the way Vini and Rodrygo seem to be headed.”

He ain’t quite Messi-esque either!
Homerwithnohumour: “We don't want anybody to be like him. We want Vini Jr to be Vini Jr, and Rodrygo to be Rodrygo. Ansu Fati is all the young talent they have. We have equivalents, and more. Just lay back, he isn't Messi.

Ace_Slammer: “I don't think Vinicius will be like Fati, different players. Rodrygo can be as good. Barca will always have good players. As long as we are also strong, nothing to worry about. And while he is clinical, I don't think Fati will reach anywhere near Messi level quality.”

Can Fati succeed when it really matters the most?
Save_Humanity: “His two best games from the end of last season and last night were against teams that opened up and played, like Villareal did. Villareal's pressing was shit too, seems like Emery is destined to be a failure with even a good team like this Villareal one.

“Let's see how Fati does when teams sit back and defend in a tight shape like Getafe do and he doesn't have open space to run in behind. He's a talent for sure at 17, but plenty of Barca players have been promising youngsters and turned to shit in their 20s. Also now Fati is playing without any pressure because all eyes are on Messi, let's see how he plays in crucial games. People compare him to Vini and Rodrygo but remember those two played without a Ronaldo in our team to take the pressure off them and they were our starting strikers for long periods.”
