Barcelona boss Koeman reveals his relationship with Messi is good after exit saga
Messi handed in a transfer request at Barca last month.
The Argentine changed his decision not to get into a legal dispute with the club.
Koeman says Leo's conflict with the board doesn't affect his relationship with the 33-year-old.
"That all went over my head," Ronald Koeman told Fox Sports Netherlands about Lionel Messi's conflict with the Barcelona board of directors.
"That was a dispute between Messi and the club. I have spoken to Messi since then and we are back to normal and continue to work with each other."
Messi asked the Catalans to let him leave the club on a free transfer last month. A clause in the Argentine's contract allows him to do so at the end of each season.
The board, however, refused to let the 33-year-old leave for free, referring to his €700m release clause.
Leo later changed his decision as he didn't want to get into a legal dispute with the club and will stay with the Catalans for the 2020/21 season.
Messi is out of contract next summer and he's yet to put pen to paper on a new long-term deal.
