Barcelona target Wijnaldum to make a u-turn and stay with Liverpool after 'positive talks' with Klopp

The midfielder hopes for a new deal as the Ronald Koeman reunion now appears to be unlikely.

Georginio Wijnaldum has had a productive conversation with Jurgen Klopp over his future at Liverpool, according to Sky Sports.

The Dutchman wants to stay at Anfield and hopes that he would be even offered a new deal.

The German coach also wants 'Gini' to continue, at least until his current contract expires next year.

The midfielder is believed to be the prime target for Barcelona's new manager Ronald Koeman.

In fact, the fellow Dutchman prefers Wijnaldum to Blaugrana former star Thiago Alcantara, as per various sources.

Yet, the Catalan club haven't made an official bid for the Liverpool man. Follow us on Google newsTwitter and on Facebook
