Carvajal reveals how Real Madrid can defend La Liga title this season

Carvajal has big ambitions of winning every possible trophy next season.

He believes Madrid should focus on blocks of five or six games to win on the trot if they’re to stay ahead of the curve.

Speaking to Real Madrid TV about the club’s objectives for the upcoming season, Dani Carvajal said (as quoted by Marca): “The aim is to fight for everything. We want to start LaLiga well and try to get as many points as possible until the next international break [in October].

“It is a question of us putting objectives in the short term, in blocks of five or six games and to try and get the maximum [points] possible. And thus, in March, we will see if we are in a position to fight for everything.”

Indeed, Madrid need to win their first few games of the season and begin their La Liga title defence on a strong note to gain an early advantage over Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Carvajal will be detrimental to keeping a strong defensive shape as he remains the first-choice right-back for Zinedine Zidane’s side and will need to maintain his high performance level throughout the season.
