Chelsea premier league competitors, Aston Villa interested in Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Aston Villa are interested in the Chelsea duo but Premier League rules mean they can only pursue a loan deal for one of them.

Sky Sports report that Aston Villa are interested in signing Chelsea duo Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

However, the Midlands club are now only in the market for a loan player.

Premier League rules dictate that you can only sign one player on loan from one club so Villa can make a move for either Barkley or Loftus-Cheek.

It is not clear whether Chelsea would allow either of the players to leave - both have featured for Frank Lampard's team already this season.

However, the two players have slipped down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge due to new arrival Kai Havertz and a season away won't be the worst idea for either of the two midfielders.
