Coutinho increase in confidence level, Speed and 4 other changes Koeman has brought to Barcelona game

Since taking over as Barcelona boss koeman has been working hard to ensure Barcelona are back to their best again.

Let's take a look at some notable changes the boss has already implemented

Philippe Coutinho tracking back
The loan at Bayern Munich has served Coutinho well. Besides improving physically, the Brazilian also seems more confident now. Ronald Koeman is ready to trust 'Phil' with an important role in the team and the player is repaying the coach's trust by working hard on the pitch.

We've seen the attacking midfielder contribute a lot defensively during the matches against Gimnastic and Girona. Under Ernesto Valverde, that wasn't usually the case.

Motivated Leo Messi
The Argentine has put the summer drama behind him and is ready to fight for every trophy again. Against Girona, the Argentine showed that he'll give everything he has no matter whether it is a friendly or official game.

It's been reported that Koeman had a chat with Messi after the latter revealed he'll stay at Barca. It looks like the Dutchman managed to convince Leo that his project will bring us trophies. After the match, Ronald even praised the forward's attitude in training.

Francisco Trincao on fire
Trincao has been the biggest surprise of Barcelona's pre-season so far. The 21-year-old has impressed with his dribbling, passing and incredible understanding of Barca's way of playing. Luckily, the 4-2-3-1 formation the new coach has introduced allows us to play him at Messi at the same time.

Although it's a rare occasion, we should praise Eric Abidal for getting Francisco when he was relatively unknown. €31m for the Portuguese might turn out to be a steal.

Youngsters in action
We know Koeman loves putting trust in youngsters and he's shown that in the first two matches. Besides Trincao, we've seen Riqui Puig, Carles Alena, Ronald Araujo, Jorge Cuenca, Pedri and Konrad de La Fuente play and every one of them did great.

If they continue showing the same level, we'll definitely see them getting more minutes than they did last season.

Speed, speed and speed
The 2019/20 Barca was perhaps the slowest top club in Europe. The Catalans didn't have the fastest players in their starting XI, and the speed with which the moved the ball across the pitch was too slow to create real danger.

This is exactly the thing Koeman has set his mind to improve from day one, and we're already seeing the results. The players are combining much faster and by playing Ousmane Dembele, Konrad and Trincao on the wings, the overall speed of our team increases.
