Dimitar Berbatov reveals leaving Real Madrid will be best bet for Luka Jovic: 'A loan back to Frankfurt will suit him'

The former Man United star feels Jovic needs to return to familiar surroundings.

He also added that the Serbian has been unlucky with injuries at Madrid.

Former Man United star Dimitar Berbatov wrote in his BetFair column: "I'm disappointed that things aren't working out for Luka Jovic so far, but maybe a loan is the right move for him.

"A loan back to Frankfurt, to familiar surroundings will suit him, he is loved there, and the idea is for him to produce the games he produced before now.

"In his case, there are no other options - he's not playing, he's been unlucky with injuries, Zidane has said he won't play - so his best bet is to go back to where he did so well and rebuild."

Although Jovic was expected to stay with Real Madrid and compete with Karim Benzema for the No.9 spot, his future has become uncertain once again.

Prior to our La Liga opener against Real Sociedad, Zidane cast doubts over Jovic's future in the pre-match press conference.

The final nail on the coffin was perhaps deploying Castilla stars Sergio Arribas and Marvin Park ahead of the 22-year-old against Sociedad.
