ESPN: Tottenham leading Manchester United in Gareth Bale pursuit

According to ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur have moved ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Gareth Bale.

Jose Mourinho is believed to have informed chairman Daniel Levy of the need to reinforce the attacking unit and Bale is being touted as a possible option.

The report adds that Spurs have begun negotiations with Real Madrid, placing them one step ahead of the Red Devils.

However, the deal on the table is the same for both clubs - a subsidized loan deal where both clubs would pay half of his mammoth €350,000-per-week wages.
