Former Arsenal midfielder Mkhitaryan officially makes Roma move permanent

The 31-year-old midfielder has left Arsenal after terminating his contract with the north London side.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has completed a permanent move to AS Roma. The Armenia international spent last season at the Serie A side and wanted to continue his career there.

According to Charles Watts, normally a reliable source, the playmaker's contract with the Gunners has been cancelled by mutual consent.

The 31-year-old therefore joins the Italian side on a free transfer. Arsenal have not received anything for the move but will perhaps be happy with getting Mkhi off the wage bill.

Henrikh joined Arsenal from Manchester United back in 2018 as a part of a swap deal for Alexis Sanchez.

Mkhitaryan's stats for the Gunners:

59 games
9 goals
13 assists.
