It would be interesting to see if Freixa manage to win some votes after his publicily slammed Messi for his attempt to quit Barca.
"I present myself with enthusiasm, plans, resources and commitment. The new fire can't serve to burn everything at the club," Toni Freixa said on Thursday, as quoted by Marca.
"We continue to be the best club in the world, the value and potential of the Barcelona brand are immense.
"We have to optimise our resources though, Barcelona must adapt to these new times."
Freixa is believed to be a front for current Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu who is now experiencing a vote of no confidence campaign against himself.
"I can confirm my candidacy for the elections next year," the presidential candidate continued.
"March 20 and 21, although it may be earlier since we are involved in a motion of no confidence. The details of our campaign will be communicated in due course."
