French coach Deschamps blasts Valverde and Setien for using Griezmann wrongly

The France boss hopes Koeman will use Antoine in his best position and the Dutchman has already made it clear he doesn't view the French star as a winger.

"A new coach brings new ideas. I hope they use him in the position he can perform and show all of his qualities," France national team's head coach Didier Deschamps told Diario Sport when asked on Antoine Griezmann's future at Barca under Ronald Koeman.

The French boss added: "That isn't a problem for us because we know exactly what we want from him."

Apparently, Deschamps didn't like the way Griezmann was used by Ernesto Valverde and Quique Setien.

He wasn't the only one as Koeman made it clear he won't use the French star as a winger, throwing shade at his predecessors.

Griezmann scored eight goals in 25 appearances playing as a left-winger this season. It took him seven matches less to net 7 strikes when he was used as a centre-forward.
