The Welshman's move to Spurs is not believed to be in danger.
Tottenham found out that Gareth Bale is injured during the player's medical on Friday, according to tier-one source Marca.
Apparently, the Welshman will be unable to make his debut for Spurs for at least four weeks with November looking like a realistic return date.
The 31-year-old reportedly picked up a knock away on international duty earlier this month and Tottenham knew in advance there could be a potential medical issue.
The transfer is still set to go through in the coming hours with Bale joining the North London side on a season-long loan.
Half of his wages will be paid by Spurs with Real Madrid covering the rest.
