Hamilton Ricard has urged James Rodriguez to enjoy 'footballer's life' in England ahead of Everton move

Hamilton Ricard believes playing in the Premier League is the best and also backed the Madrid star to become a starter again.

Former Middlesbrough striker Hamilton Ricard told Marca Claro Colombia: "I hope he [James Rodriguez] enjoys a footballer's life in England, it's a real glamour.

"It's the best. They put everything at your service. Football is their life and it's another goal in their life."

The Colombian went on to add: "It's a different life, different football, different club... Raise your game and be a starter again."

The Real Madrid star is believed to have undergone a medical with Everton and it is only a matter of time before the official announcement is made.

James will finally be able to reunite with former boss Carlo Ancelotti after a severe shortage of game time under Zinedine Zidane. In fact, the playmaker has even stated that the French boss has his "own tastes" when it comes to team selection.
