I don't see Benzema ever returning to national team squad: French FA president

Benzema last played for France in 2015 due to non-football issues.

FFF president La Graet doesn't deny the striker's quality but is not looking to bring him back.

Speaking to Telefoot, French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet said: "Nobody can deny Karim Benzema is a good player. Everyone knows that he is an exemplary, wonderful footballer.

"I respect him, he has had an exceptional year. Do I regret my words [that Karim's international career with France is over] last year? No I don't. Some words that are easier to forgive than others.

"If we are logical, [manager] Didier Deschamps will be there until 2022 at least. I don't think he will get Benzema back. Besides justice has a negative role in this matter, the pending trial has been going on since 4 years."

Benzema has not featured for France since 2015 following his arrest for an alleged role in blackmailing international teammate Mathieu Valbuena.

The investigation is still ongoing with France's highest court dismissing the Real Madrid's striker appeal last year.
