It's a shame: Courtois hit back at media after controversy over his negative covid-19 test

The Belgian was believed to have tested positive first and then negative.

However, Courtois has now cleared the air amid a lot of rumours.

"I can’t say much because of the medical confidentiality," said Thibaut Courtois after Real Madrid's 0-0 draw against Real Sociedad.

"I tested negative, that’s why I trained with Belgium the same day and then with Madrid the next. It’s a shame that media sometimes seek to create controversy."

The goalkeeper's initial tests were believed to be positive but then another one later showed that he was negative. However, it became a huge thing at the time, with many speculations over his health and fitness.

Nevertheless, Courtois has returned safe and sound after being on duty with Belgium for the UEFA Nations League. He also did well for us between the sticks against Sociedad.

Like a true Madridista, he also defended Karim Benzema after the game for missing some chances to score.
