Kai Havertz speaks and reveals 2 main reasons why he struggles in Chelsea vs Brighton game

The Chelsea newcomer admits that the Premier League opener wasn't his best game.

The attacker has only trained for less than a week after the long holidays.

Besides, the Premier League is a much tougher competition than the Bundesliga.

"It was a very tough game, very difficult because I had long holidays and I came back and trained for five or six days with the team," Kai Havertz said after the Brighton win as quoted by the Evening Standard. "More important is that we won so I am very happy to make my debut.

"The Premier League is much tougher than the Bundesliga. I have seen that in training and saw it in the game as well. But I am happy to play 80 minutes and hopefully next week I will continue."

The 21-year-old deserves praise for his work rate, but he was not too comfortable in his role on the right wing.

Still, there are already positive signs about Havertz, as well as his fellow newcomer Timo Werner who were the two Chelsea players to make their debuts for the club at the Amex Stadium.
