Lyon coach Garcia In support of Barcelona interest for Depay

Garcia believes that Depay belongs to a team that fights for the Champions Leaugue.

However, the coach says Memphis might not have a place in the squad with Suarez and Messi at Barca.

"I have read it in the Catalan press," Lyon's coach Rudi Garcia has told Telefoot when asked about Memphis Depay's links with Barcelona.

"They are talking about the interest in signing Memphis, but they also remember that Luis Suarez has not yet terminated his contract.

Or a few days ago, they pointed out the departure of a small left-footed player (Leo Messi) who, finally, stays. There is no space to incorporate another player.

"If he stays with us, Olympique Lyon will be a much stronger team. If Memphis, like many other players in my squad, has the opportunity to play in a team that has been built to win the Champions League, I would drive him to Barcelona myself."

According to reports, the Catalans are looking to land the 26-year-old for €25m. He has only one more year left on his contract with the Ligue 1 outfit. Depay is said to be a special request from Ronald Koeman.
