Deschamp back Griezmann to rediscover his lost form again vs Sweden after last poor display

Deschamps has spoken in Griezmann's support following the forward's disappointing performance vs Sweden.

The coach believes Antoine is not at his best because he hasn't been playing for a while.

After missing three penalties in a row, Deschamps says he'll turst the player with the next one, too.

“All offensive players, to make a difference, need a boost. Antoine Griezmann felt better and better as the match went on, he is one of the squad members who hasn’t been playing for 15 days now. So he needs to turn the machine on again," France national team coach Didier Deschamps has told RMC Sport.

“He knows he missed the penalty, like his last two. But he hasn’t taken one for a while, he needs to get used to it again. For the moment he feels happy to take one, if there is another one, I’ll let him take it of course.”

Griezmann had a horrible match against Sweden, even missing a penalty, his third in a row.

In the 29-year-old's defence, we should mention that he has been out of action since August 14 and hadn't even started the pre-season at Barcelona before joining Les Bleus for the UEFA Nations League.
