Premier League Chairman not happy with England decision to cancel fans stadium return

Supporters were set to be allowed back in starting from October.

The plans have been cancelled as the number of Covid-19 cases in the UK rises.

Speaking to the BBC, Premier League CEO Richard Masters said: "We have to get back to fans inside stadia as quickly as possible.

"That's the big thing that's missing, economic or otherwise - we need fans back inside stadiums for all sorts of reasons."

Last week, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that fans won't be allowed to return to stadiums next month due to the rise in Covid-19 cases.

Chelsea were set to welcome a limited number of supporters back at Stamford Bridge in October but that no longer appears to be a possibility.
