Real Madrid’s first-ever supporters' club, Pena Casa Mariano turned 100 years old in September

The fan club began even before the Spanish top flight was created.

Real Madrid’s first-ever supporters' club, Pena Casa Mariano turned 100 years old in September according to AS.

The fan club was started by a loyal Madridista Mariano Herrero along with his four friends to discuss and celebrate all things Real Madrid.

During a time where there was no radio or television broadcast, the members of the fan club would travel to watch the team play at the O’Donnell ground back then.

Mariano is said to have been such a Madrid loyalist that he wouldn’t come out of his room for two days if Madrid lost a game back then.

The likes of Santiago Bernabeu and Alfredo Di Stefano would often meet up with Herrero and loyal Madridistas after the Pena Casa Mariano supporters club gained fame.
