Riqui Puig wants to prove Koeman wrong by staying put in Barcelona

This is not the first time Riqui refuses to leave on loan, he's quite a character.

Riqui Puig is set to continue at Barcelona despite Ronald Koeman publically recommending he leaves on loan, Diario Sport's reputable Albert Roge says.

As of now, the youngster is guaranteed to continue at the club as he wants to prove the coach wrong, show him that he can fit into the new system.

Meanwhile, the club doesn't consider sending him back to Barca B; if Riqui stays, he will be part of the first team.

This won't be the first time that Puig rejects being sent on loan; last November, La Masia chief Patrick Kluivert advised Riqui leaves on loan.

The 21-year-old left a good impression in the friendlies against Gimnastic and Girona but the coach decided to leave him out of the squad for the Elche match.
