The two Chelsea players try to save the club from being expelled from the Football League.

Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses has made 'a significant donation' to support his former club Wigan Athletic in their struggle to keep their place in the Football League.

He spent two and a half years at Wigan before joining the Blues in the summer of 2012.

The chairperson of Wigan Athletic Supporters' Club, Caroline Molyneux, confirmed that the Nigerian donated such a substantial amount that she 'couldn’t believe what I was hearing'.

The player would rather remain anonymous, but the organisation wants him to get the recognition he deserves.

His donation has taken the campaign past £650,000, with £750,000 being their next target.

Earlier, Reece James, another Blue who played for the Latics, became one of the first players to make a contribution to the case.
